Apartment in Eixample
This apartment is situated inside a catalogued modernist building on the left side of Barcelona’s Eixample district.
The customer wanted an apartment that was tailor-made to their needs. They travel a lot and we had to make it a place of rest, relaxation, and disconnection without forgetting simple elegance.
As the apartment is all about the exterior, we wanted to give prominence to the fantastic modernist arches on the gazebos, which will be enhanced from inside using translucent, grey-toned drapery and curtains.
The installation of the underfloor heating was performed from scratch. A home automation system was also installed.
The daytime area including the living room, dining room, TV room, and office is an open space, but it can also be divided into different independent spaces according to the customer’s needs at that moment. The furniture in this space is by Minotti and Molteni.
The black lacquered panelling in the hall conceals the customer’s bedroom, their most private space.
The kitchen, the Trim model by Italian firm Dada, follows the same open concept as the daytime area and opens up the apartment using bronzed glass, focused on relaxation and the comforts needed to disconnect from travelling or the working day.
The master bathroom follows the dark and masculine shades used in the rest of the apartment.
For the bedroom, a bluish shade was chosen in combination with the grey colour predominant throughout the apartment.
The rug is reminiscent of panot, the characteristic tile used on Barcelona’s pavements, and is a nod to the city.
