Comprehensive refurbishment of this 550 m2 apartment located in the Turó Park area of Barcelona.
For this work, a reinterpretation of the classic was mixed with modern design, following the traditional distribution of apartments from the mid-20th century: dining room, living room, library, office, in which the spaces come together and communicate with each other to form a unique environment, but which can also be separated using the different sliding doors.
The distribution, as can be seen throughout the apartment, is one of the strong points of this work. The hall distributes the
daytime area, evening area, and the kitchen. It functions as a lobby, following the aesthetic of the elements recovered from the panelling and cornices.
The daytime area is very refined and is furnished with sophisticated furniture pieces from Promemoria and Minotti. Throughout the work, existing elements that have been given a new lease of life, like the mouldings and fireplace, are combined with new elements such as the large brushed and waxed solid oak floor, and the ceilings, which are purely decorative and made of stone to seek authenticity and hide the originals.
The kitchen is one of the highlights of the apartment. Due to the customer’s requirements and needs, the goal was to fully customise it by designing a space with various work areas like an urban Txoko (traditional Basque gastronomical society).
A highlight in the evening area is the master suite, which is accessed through the Gliss Master dressing room by Molteni, upholstered in silk, and which is the distributor between the bedroom and the master bathroom. The dressing room has a chest of drawers or central element designed by Ferruz and upholstered with a bevelled mirror.
The customer’s works of art, one of their biggest hobbies, are a decorative element that could not be left out of this special apartment.
